Many of the following requirements can be acquired over time, so don't necessarily give up if you do not meet all of the requirements at the time of application.

- can work as part of a team

- must pass a medical examination

- pass a drug and alcohol clearance test
- must enjoy manual and practical activities
- 18 years old and over

- able to handle heavy machinery
- has an aptitude for mechanics
- a good memory with numbers and recording details accurately
